Introduction to wmTorrent
About wmTorrent
wmTorrent is an advanced but very user-friendly torrent client for Windows Mobile that allows you to create, leech and/or seed torrent files. It supports multiple and simultaneous download of torrents with numerous functions to manage and controlling your torrents, downloads and peers. It is the first torrent client for Windows Mobile Professional, Classic and Standard. Torrent was first released in July 2005.

Basic Guide
First thing First
Before you start wmTorrrent, make sure your device has Internet connection and is being connected to the Internet. wmTorrrent DOES NOT initiate any Internet connection, it is up to you to select and start your mobile device's Internet connection before starting wmTorrent. You can use your browser or other connection tool for such a purpose. wmTorrent works with Wi–Fi, CDMA, GPRS, EDGE, 3G and almost any network that provides Internet connection.
First time set up guide
Firt time set up in wmTorrent is simple. If you have a balance upload/download bandwidth, you can use Speed Guide on the Home View of wmTorrent. If your upload bandwidth is lower than your download bandwidth, you might want to set your global upload limit to a number about half your upload bandwidth to ensure that you still have active torrent but be warned, by limiting your upload bandwidth you might run into problem with tracker that strictly requires good donlowd to upload ratio. If you have older device, please set max connections to a more reasonable number, 20 to 30 will ensure better performance. These settings can be found in Opions View->Limits panel.
Downloading with wmTorrent
To download files using wmTorrent you need to have torrent metafile in your mobile device. You can get a torrent metafile by downloading it using your browser or using the Add New Torrent->Get Torrent By URL panel of the Home View. Each torrent metafile is a metadata that contains information about the tracker and the shared files. wmTorrent supports DHT and PEX. To extract torrent metafile information into wmTorrent and start downloading, you can perform either one of the following tasks:
- Tap on the torrent file in file explorer.
- Use Home View Add New Torrent Select a torrent file to select the torrent meta-file.

You can select the folder to hold the files you are about to download using select folder command:

Use the menu's Files command to display files dialog with options to select download priority of the selected files.

wmTorrent User Interface
Views
There are four main views and eight detail views for Torrents View in wmTorrent. Main views are Home, Torrents, Log and Options.
Home View
Home View has four panels. The first panel provides four selections: Add New Torrent- Select torrent file,
Add New Torrent - Get Torrent by URL, Add New Torrent - Seed Torrent and Create New Torrent - Create Torrent Metafile. You can use your stylus to tap on
to change your selection or using hardware navigation left and right buttons for the same purpose.
The second panel in the Home view provides jumps to the other three main views:
Torrents View
Logs View
Options View .
If you tap on the third panel, you will be led to this online page.
The fourth panel is the link to activate
speed-guide dialog that facilitates fast setup for the type of your Internet connection.
Torrents View
Torrents View is a list view that displays all the activities of the torrents that you have added into wmTorrent.
You can filter your view by selecting one of these icons:
All
Downloading
Seeding
Active
InActive
Filter commands can also be accessed through dynamic menu, Menu->Filter.
On the top right corner of this view you will notice a down triangle with a sorting name to the left of it. You can tap on it to sort the list descending or ascending according to the Name, Size, Download Bytes, Upload Bytes, Download Speed, Upload Speed, Progress, Time Left, Pieces, Peers, Comments and Date. These sorting functions are also available throught dynamic menu: Menu->Sort By.
Tap on an item to select it or you can use hardware navigation keys to move up or down and press selection button to select an item.
When no torrent is selected, the bottom bar will display standard icons that provide jumps to Home, Torrents, Logs and Options Views:

Upon selecting a torrent, the bottom bar will be transformed to display selection options for Torrents Detail Views:

You can tap on the left and right buttons to navigate from Torrents - General detail view to Torrents-Trackers detail view.
All eight detail views provide comprehensive information of the selected torrent.
While you are in any of the eight detail views you can return to the torrents view by using the Close Detail
command in dynamic menu or simply tapping on
in the bottom bar.
Torrents View - General
General detail view provides general information about the selected torrent. While in this view, you can change the storage location of the downloading torrent.
You can tap on or select the storage panel to change the storage location of a selected active torrent:

You can also use the comment panel to add additional information for the selected torrent.
Torrents View - Transfers
Transfers detail view provide upload and download information for the selected torrent. In this view, you can set the upload and download speed limit of the selected torrent. To set the upload speed limit of the selected torrent you simply tap on or select the Upload Speed Panel.

In the same fashion, you can set the download speed of the selectd torrent.
Torrents View - Files
In this detail files view, you can tap and hold, or use the dynamic menu, to display a popup menu with options to set file priority.

Torrents View - Peers
The detail peers view provides list of information of the connected peers.

On the top row of the panel you will see ip address and a range of indicators. It starts with Peer source:
T - Tracker, H - dHt, X - Pex, L - Local;Encryption state: N - No encryption, R - RC4, P - Plain Text.
If the peer's client supports extensions, you will observe additional indicator, xt.
At the end of these you will sometimes see the letter U for peer that uploads only.
Request indicator shows the current back log of your requests and immediately followed by peer's requests.
The two numbers are separated by |.
The progress indicator (P) displays the peer's current downloading progress.
This indicator is immediately followed by the peer's download rate.
The second row in this panel starts with the torrent client of the peer,
it is then followed by Download (D) rate with downloaded bytes in parentheses.
Upload (U) rate is next and again followed by uploaded bytes in parentheses.
Torrents View - Pieces
Each small square in Piecese view represents a piece or block of pieces for the selected torrent.

Torrents View - Speed
Graphics presentation of download and upload rate.

Torrents View - Logs
Activities logs for the selected torrent.

Torrents View - Trackers
Trackers detail with options to Force Reannouce and Tracker Login.

This main logs view provides useful information if you activate debug report mode.

Options View
Options view list all the settings dialogs available in wmTorrent.
